Calling all foodies, discover a different kind of summer with oriental flavors at Banyan Tree. Soak up the summer rays while cooking up a Thai feast set upon a beautiful outdoor area overlooking the sky-high urban resort’s exclusive private pool.
The cooking lessons have been organized to run on weekdays from 2pm to 5pm. The classes aim to teach guests how to cook a four-course menu including classic Thai favourites such as Tom Yum Goong (Traditional Spicy River Prawn Soup); Yum Ruam Mitr Talay (Seafood Salad); Gaeng Kiew Wan Gai (Green Curry Chicken with Aubergine and Rice Noodles); and Sakoo Bai Toey (Pandan Tapioca Pudding with Coconut Milk).
Last year, Saffron was awarded the “Thai Select Premium” award, the highest recognition awarded by Thailand’s Ministry of Commerce to overseas restaurants – and Saffron was the first and only Thai restaurant in Macau and Hong Kong to receive it.
Saffron’s very own native Thai Chef, Chananya said: “Guests can experience the joy of connecting to Thai culture at Macau through our Thai cooking classes where they learn to whip up their all-time favorite Thai dishes – the perfect memento to bring home. The pleasure sharing the secret and true taste of Thai cuisine, from understanding the ingredients to balancing the flavors and creating a traditional recipe are all ours.”
All guests will receive a complimentary recipe book and a certificate of achievement. A smart looking chef’s uniform will also be provided for usage. As spaces are limited, guests are advised to book their classes as soon as possible. A minimum of 48 hours’ notice is needed in addition to a 50% deposit.
