The Dragon Boat Festival which falls on the 5th day of the 5th month in Chinese Lunar Calendar originally commemorated the ancient patriotic Chinese poet Qu Yuan, who protested corruption by drowning himself. Today, the celebrations revolve around the hugely popular Macao International Dragon Boat Races contested in late May or June on Nam Van Lake on the historic Praia Grande shorefront. Dragon boat teams from Hong Kong, Japan, the U.S., the Philippines, China, Thailand, Singapore, Korea, Australia and Europe frequently participate in the races.

O MANIPULADOR LIVE AT LIVE MUSIC ASSOCIATION
O Manipulador is Manuel Molarinho’s one-man-band, largely influenced by alternative rock bands and DIY ethics, inspired by abandoned industrial landscapes, the rhythm, and melodies of conversations and experimentation.
The idea to create songs and textures exploring the maximum creative potential of a bass, pedals, voice and a loop station came to life in 2010. Since then, O Manipulador released 2 albums (‘Boxing’ and ‘Chess’) and a split tape with Daily Misconceptions – ‘LOP’, released by ZigurArtists – besides a few compilations and reworks.
Repetition and obsession are also recurrent themes on O Manipulador’s imagery.

THE TASTE OF YUNNAN AT BEIJING KITCHEN
A culinary journey inspired by Yunnan because of its beautiful scenery and rich and diverse cultural history reigns at Beijing Kitchen.
