It is now certain that there is not a time in the year that Macau runs out of art events. Our city is overflowing with so much culture and heritage that it can be appreciated in all forms and subjects. We are honored to have Marc Chagall, one of the most famous artists of the 20th century hold his exhibition in the midst of our city as well as some other promising local artists who are generously sharing their artworks and creations with us.
MARC CHAGALL: LIGHT AND COLOUR IN SOUTHERN FRANCE EXHIBITION

Holding its first exhibition here in Macau, the Macao Museum of Art is honored to have opened a selection of Marc Chagall’s works such as paintings, gouaches, lithographs, costumes, and tapestries which will highlight the pre-eminence of light and color in his creations.
Marc Chagall is one of the major artists of the 20th century, with a world of unique and diverse cultural influences by which he encountered during his lifetime marked by war and exile. Chagall’s Light and Color in Southern Frances explore the omnipresence of lights and colors in his work from the 1950s, inspired by the dazzling Mediterranean Sea and bright landscapes of the French River.

SEASON LAO SOLO EXHIBITION OPENING AT CREATIVE MACAU
Season Lao, a contemporary artist born in Macau but raised in Japan is working on mostly photos with a resistance to trend using tools such as a camera, his own eyes just like those Haiku poets and Nanaga artists aiming for universality, which remains unchanged through the test of time. Visit the world of the creator in an unknown yet nostalgic world. If you pay attention, the sound of the wind, of living creatures breathing, all sounds being handed down from the past to the future can be heard through just a portrait.

CHINA CULTURAL AND NATURAL HERITAGE DAY
Aiming to raise public awareness about the importance of the preservation of cultural heritage, the China cultural and natural heritage day has been celebrated annually since 2006. To mark the occasion, the Cultural Affairs Bureau is organizing several activities, including free visits to World Heritage sites and museums, talks and a heritage photography course (register now). They will also be hosting a promotional carnival that will be highlighting the city’s cultural heritage exposing the most of Macau.

Marking the death anniversary of Saint Anthony of Padua is the annual procession of St. Anthony. Also known as Anthony of Lisbon, this celebration is venerated around the world among Portuguese speaking communities. To observe the solemn occasion, Macao catholic devotees hold a special mass that is followed by a procession towards the nearby garden before worshippers enter the church once again.

A CHINESE OPERA: SHADE OF BUTTERFLY AND RED PEAR BLOSSOM
The best Cantonese opera is back in town with a theme of passion, politics, and intrigue in a plot with plenty of twists and turns. The shade of butterfly and red pear blossom is a masterpiece penned by the legendary playwright, Tong Dik Sang, whose iconic work is set to perform with grandeur and artistry in a full range run, stages by a collective of masters in the field. The play is directed by Pak Suet Sin who was the original leading actress when the opera premiered in Hong Kong, back in the 1950s.

I UPLOAD THERE I EXIST – AN EXHIBITION BY WONG WENG IO
This exhibition curated by Margarida Saraiva explores questions about relationships and impact in-between human existence, technology, information, media, artificial existence, and robotics. Artist, Wong Weng has been occupied with research, thinking, using intuitive cognition and improvisation to understand the subject of the future of society for almost a year. Which resulted in the process presented in the form of an exhibition that explores the paradox between the physical and virtual realities.
It presents a large scale artwork installation titled “The Omnipresence of Text”, “Complex” and “Past”, which is inspired by the Ether, a science fiction novel set in the United States written by a Chinese author. Wong Weng assumes the role of being the “manipulator” producing a time-contraction and displacement of the story setting, which expands the question of information, manipulation, and falsification into another dimension, one that is atemporal, transhistorical and transnational

EMPTINESS IS A FORM – WORKS BY ALICE KOK
Have you ever wondered what “Emptiness” and “Form” are all about? Should the wording itself be a description of what it is beyond that reach? The textual language itself can only point out what the universe allows us to see. Alice Kok, born in Macau interests herself on the question, “what is real, and what is illusion?” and expresses herself through images of things that replace their actual presence. Kok likes to dwell in the ambiguity of different states, in between languages, cultures, matters, and people. In this exhibition, her works shown is also built between emptiness and form and which reflects Buddha as the center of the two extremities.
