Shitaki mushrooms, tiger prawns, sweet potatoes, mandarin oranges… What do all of these foods have in common?
Here’s a hint: think Japan.
Produced in Japanese Oita Prefecture, these and other regional specialties are some of the most exquisite products from the island nation.
Fortunately you don’t need to plan a trip to Japan as Oita Prefecture Food Fair is now in Macau: From March 15 until April 9 you can enjoy Oita’s best at Yamazato Japanese Fine Dining on the 28th floor of Hotel Okura Macau.
For hosting this food fair, Executive Chef Akira Hayashi is preparing the unique menus for both lunch and dinner with Oita’s famed ingredients.
Signature dishes include:
• clear soup of soft shell turtle and grilled mochi
• kabosu yellowtail on rice
• kunimi seaweed tofu with vinegar miso and himejima tiger shrimp
• Beppu Bay thin sliced flounder and tuna
Oita Kaiseki Set-Lunch and Set-Dinner are available from now until April 9, 2017.
Lunch priced at MOP $580 per person or at MOP $668 with sake pairing. Dinner priced at MOP $1,380 per person or at MOP $1,530 with sake pairing.
