Italian cuisine, in all its simplicity, is probably one of the most widely loved cuisines in the world. From little kids to grown-ups, everyone seems to happily delight in bruschetta, pizza, pasta, risotto, pannacotta, tiramisu and the list could go on and on! Italians are not ones to order takeout often and cook a lot of homemade recipes, often passed down several generations, and there’s special care with using the freshest ingredients. Almost every Italian you’ll meet will speak about their nonna’s homemade dishes with great joy and pride. As a result, many people would love to be able to learn how to cook Italian food, with someone who knows it from inside out. That’s where Rossi Trattoria and Chef Rodolfo Serritelli come in.
Inspired by the Family’s Love for Food
Led by the young and talented Italian chef Rodolfo Serritelli, Rossi Trattoria brings diners authentic, rustic-style Italian cuisine, preparing simple and delectable food to be shared and enjoyed with your loved ones. Naturally, only the freshest, traditional ingredients are allowed in the kitchen. During the cooking class, Chef further advises his pupils that high-quality ingredients are key. And always, always, use extra-virgin olive oil.
A second-generation Italian chef, Serritelli is deeply passionate about his craft. He grew up in the town of Senigallia, a port town located on Italy’s Adriatic coast, greatly inspired by his family’s love for food from a young age. His main references are his grandmother and aunt (who prepares “the best Tiramisu in the world!”) and his mentor, his own father, a master chef at the cooking school in his hometown. In addition, Chef Serritelli did an apprenticeship at Contrada by Gordon Ramsay at Castel Monastero and that has contributed greatly to him being aware of the wonders a chef can devise.
“When I started thinking about Italian cuisine and identity, I realised that people outside of Italy really want to eat pizza and pasta, so I started to learn about the traditions of pizza and pasta, and ultimately how my family prepares it. Everything on the menu at Rossi Trattoria is meant to be shared–it’s all about having a good time with the people you are with. You have fun, you laugh and you share,” says Chef Rodolfo Serritelli.
