Macao Central Library is located in a restored two-story heritage building opened in 1983. However, the library history goes back to 1895 when it was settled in St. Augustine’s Church.
The library has a welcoming and bright main entrance with a blend of old and new in its interior. Besides conventional library services, Macao Central Library offers Macao information references, e-news, e-database, microfilm reading, etc. The collection comprises over 92,000 volumes, as well as hundreds of microfilms rolls, thousands of audiovisual materials, newspapers and magazines. The library can fit up to 271 visitors and has a small balcony with the Tap Seac Square view, where you can see some events from time to time.
