Hon Kee Cafe Coloane is located in a quiet little back street of Lai Chi Wun Village in Coloane, near the old shipbuilding yards. They have their own unique way of making a cup of coffee—using regular instant coffee powder and mixing it with some sugar and hot water first before grinding it and adding more water, resulting in a really smooth textured coffee.

Hon Kee Cafe’s preferred foods are soup noodles with egg and meat, sweet and savory sandwiches, but also bites.
Hon Kee Cafe in Coloane Village is a sought-after venue, especially amongst locals and tourists who search for good coffee spots in Macau. Located in an old part of Coloane, right before Macau’s prison, it can be hard to spot as it’s in the middle of other small residence houses. The area is known for being, until the mid-1990s, the center of shipyards and ship making. One can still spot some of these old wreckages nearby before reaching the local restaurant.

****It can be a bit tricky to get to Hon Kee cafe Coloane Village but a lot of people in the area know the place, so you can ask for directions or take a taxi. If you are coming by bus, 15, 21A, 25, 26, or 26A to get to Est. do Campo/PSP 2 bus stop. You hope off the bus right in front of Coloane Prison and start walking in the opposite direction to the bus. You’ll soon see the abandoned shipyard area of Lai Chi Vun on your left; keep going and turn left onto Estrada de Lai Chi Vun. Just keep walking past the shipyard and you will see Hon Kee Cafe Coloane.
