This event promises to recreate all the magic, charm and campiness of the 80s. Get on your best shoulder-padded suit or pull out that glitzy sparkly dress and get ready to relive the disco ball era. They will be serving classic snacks from that era too, with classic tracks and wine to match as well. It looks like Wine & Music – Back to the 80s’ of Sofitel Macau will be a lot of fun that you shouldn’t miss out on.
There will be a trivia contest to test your knowledge from the era and there are some lucrative prizes up for grabs. There is also a ‘Best Costume’ award and a fantastic selection of classic party food. DISCOVER SARDINIA WITH BENE’S FOOD & WINE MERCATO
Bene’s Food & Wine Mercato (market) at the Sheraton Grand Macao is the only dining concept in Macau that explores different flavors from all the regions across Italy, celebrating culinary traditions that go back hundreds of years. This month they will take guests on a journey to the Italian region of Sardinia, the island sanctuary of coral blue beaches and rugged mountains in the Mediterranean Sea. Seafood lovers will love sa fregola – a typical pasta of Sardinia consisting of tiny toasted balls of semolina cooked with seafood, as well as cozze gratinate – a popular dish in Sardinia made of broiled mussels with herbed breadcrumbs. Carnivores can feast on porchetto arrosto, roasted baby pork in a classic of Sardinian style, while those with a sweet tooth can revel in the zesty traditional Sardinian dessert, seadas al miele e scorza d’arancia – crispy fritters stuffed with caciotta cheese and orange peel and topped with forest honey and gelato. Each of these dishes has been matched with carefully chosen wines from Sardinia, such as Vermentino and Cannonau.

COCKTAIL LABORATORY – BAR STORIES CHAPTER 27
Partake in an experimental journey of liquid concoctions including creations such as foie gras-infused vodka chocolate martinis, tea-infused cocktails, and other unconventional beverages – all created by renowned mixologist Shuzo Nagumo. He’s kind of like a mad cocktail scientist, and he employs high-tech culinary equipment in the creation of his concoctions. He’s known as Tokyo’s only self-titled “Grand Mixologist” and for this event in Macau he will be serving drinks from two of his top bars. He runs a few bars in Japan, one of which was on the list of Asia’s 50 Best Bars this year (Mixology Salon) and another which was on the list in 2016 (Mixology Laboratory).

STARTUP WEEKEND MACAO 2018 – WOMEN EDITION
Startup Weekend is an inspiring experience-based education program designed to bring people together who are interested in entrepreneurship to learn from each other. Participants create working startups during the event and are able to collaborate with like-minded individuals outside of their daily networks. Beginning with Friday night pitches and continuing through brainstorming, business plan development, and basic prototype creation, Startup Weekends culminate in Sunday night demos and presentations.
They have hosted more than 7,000 events in more than 150 countries. For this Macau event, the theme is specifically about women entrepreneurs. Plus, it will be part of a series of Techstars Startup Weekends held across cities in Asia Pacific including Shanghai, Shenzhen, Kuala Lumpur and Sydney during the month of September. The event is focused on engaging and celebrating women, diversity and inclusion in local communities.
The winning Macau team will be announced on Pitch Day, September 9, and they will go to Bali, Indonesia for the Final Pitch with other cities.

29TH MACAO INTERNATIONAL FIREWORKS DISPLAY CONTEST 2018
Watch the night sky of Macau explode in at this spectacular light and sound show happening throughout September. The annual Macao International Fireworks Display Contest will take place on every Saturdays in September, Mid-Autumn Festival and on China’s National Day. The marvelous fireworks display adds a joyous sight to holidays and festivals and has become one of Macau’s must-sees. Watch the shows from over 100 teams who will be representing their country in the skies. During that period the Macao Tourism Government Tourism Office will be hosting a series of photography, student drawing, and trophy design contests that will attract many talented participants to join and add more color to this exciting festival.
