the st regis bar macao macau lifestyle platter springrolls chicken burger Where to Eat Macau December

The St. Regis Bar Macao, The Hottest Spot in Town

We’ve been excitedly anticipating the reopening of The St. Regis Bar Macao and finally, the remodeled watering hole is ready to take guests into its hospitable arms again! While the previous The St. Regis Bar was an elegant lounge, the new one takes it to the next level of the classiest of establishments for its design, concept, and what they offer to guests. In fact, it is more like a whole new spot on the Cotai Strip rather than an update. So as you walk from the elevator lobby towards the bar’s entrance, get ready for an astonishing surprise.

The cocktail menu is not confined to just the Bloody Mary and features an array of signature, innovative, and classic cocktails with a twist. Inspired by the Big Apple and the aristocratic Astor family members, they taste as great as they sound. John Jacob’s Gold & Glitter is a cognac-based drink with artichoke honey wine and fresh notes of kaffir lime.

Many modern bars offer patrons something to munch on while they are sipping on their cocktails. Yet again, The St. Regis Bar didn’t settle for something ordinary on this front. It will make you come back again and again, not just for your favorite drinks, but for the food menu carefully crafted by Sous Chef Ben Hu. Be it half a dozen freshly shucked Daniel Sorlut oysters paired with a glass of fine champagne or something more substantial. Classic bar and pub dishes here are elevated to the refined level. Want a burger? Try the juicy chicken and seared foie gras burger with comté cheese and black truffle mayo. Craving a humble hot dog? How about an Haute dog with bacon-wrapped polish krauker? Feeling like spring rolls? Make it fancy prawn and sea urchin spring rolls.

Slow Cook Orangic Mountain Egg The Manor

Let’s Do a Luxe Lunch at The Manor

The Manor at The St. Regis Macao presents the new “Let’s do a Luxe Lunch” set menu–an all-new, special occasion lunch experience featuring luxurious gourmet specialties showcasing the finest imported seafood and premium cuts of meat. Available in four or five-course menus, highlights of Let’s Do a Luxe Lunch include Boston lobster served with mushroom consommé, foie gras, and parmesan chips, and homemade ravioli served with Reblochon de Savoie, porcini mushroom, and kabocha pumpkin.

Meat lovers can indulge their cravings with a tender venison fillet wrapped in flaky pastry, wellington style, and then dressed with sour cherry sauce, followed by the much-loved organic mountain egg, soft cooked and served on a bed of green asparagus, soft polenta, maple roasted Japanese potato and a garnish of black truffle. Seafood connoisseurs will love the seasonal turbot with baked celeriac, red mullet bottarga, fennel and cilantro, while sweet tooths will find warmth in the dessert of an intensely rich rice pudding served with caramel mousse, port wine pear, pistachio and rice pudding ice cream.

When: 12:00pm–3:00pm, ongoing

Where: The Manor, The St. Regis Macao, The Londoner Macao, Estrada do Istmo, s/n, Cotai

indian garden macau lifestyle indian restaurants

Indian Garden Macau

The story of Indian Garden began when its founder Antony Manuswamy immigrated to Macau in 1977. At the time, there was hardly any Indian food in the city, nevermind authentic, which made Antony homesick and longing for familiar flavors. But most importantly, it encouraged him to correct that unfortunate circumstance. So in 1990, he opened the first Indian Kitchen. The business turned out to be instantly successful. Now, 30 years after, the restaurant now called Indian Garden is still alive and well in Macau and there are more in Mainland China.

Catering to the Chinese palate, the chef makes dishes creamier and less spicy. But the cooking team still manages to preserve authenticity. Indian Garden’s menu is extensive and contains diverse regional cuisine specialties, from Kerala to Kashmir. That covers southern seafood dishes, northern paneers and mutton courses, Dehli’s kebabs, and so much more. As Indian cuisine is one of the most vegetarian-friendly, there are plenty of plant-based dishes, such as aloo and dhal. Hands down, the variety of biriani and rice here is hard to beat. If you are crazy about Indian bread, this restaurant would be heaven for you–the selection of naan, roti, and paratha will blow your mind. Moreover, there is delivery to Macau, Taipa, and Coloane. Conveniently enough, you can order online and pay with MPay.

Opening hours: Daily, 12:00pm–00:00am

Where and How to Do the Durian in Macau

From flavored ice-cream, candies, and even pizzas, durian–the large, green, spiky, southeast Asian fruit, also known as the king of fruits–is here and we’ve realized that Macau has gone ga-ga over them. Exquisitely rich with that special custardy texture of bitterness and sweetness and the unusual trailing smell, you will either love it or hate it.

congee

The Best Crab Congee in Macau

Autumn is the season for crabs. It is a nice warming food that evokes feelings of nostalgia for many during cold evenings. There are many ways the locals prepare it and many places that serve it fresh, but one famous one in Macau is One Brother Food, a restaurant that serves delectable crab congee.

Located close to the Border Gate, One Brother Food (一哥美食) is popular with locals and visitors because of its unique crab congee. Congee is a slow-cooked rice porridge and is usually quite thick and fluffy in texture. A variety of ingredients such as fish and meat can be added. One Brother Food is unique though because they focus on crab congee.
