Stories of the Sea The Eighth Chapter The Manor St Regis Macao Diverse Plates

Stories of the Sea – The Eighth Chapter at The Manor

The latest evolution of The Manor’s Stories of the Sea – The Eighth Chapter offers a wealth of seafood extravagance and showcasing the finest ingredients of seas of the world will be available from May 13, 2021. The six-course menu, crafted by Executive Sous Chef Michele Dell’Aquila was designed to highlight the freshness of the seafood and tantalize the tastebuds with exceptional flavor and texture.

Signature dishes of Stories of the Sea – The Eighth Chapter include fresh Belon oyster served with yuzu sorbet and tapioca passion fruit, and aged raspberry vinegar foam. The acidity of the citrus and berries balance the saltiness and strong flavors of the oyster, providing a sense of freshness on the palate. The eighth iteration of the Stories of the Sea menu includes seared sturgeon capped with Baerii caviar and a selection of rich side dishes featuring French Ratte potatoes, then followed by smoked Atlantic mackerel with green beans, soaked in tuna fish broth and garnished with mackerel tartare and Oscietra caviar. To maintain the tender texture of the fish, Chef Michele uses a variety of cooking techniques to maximize flavors, including searing, smoking, and the gentle sous-vide method that slowly cooks the fish in a vacuum over a longer time to preserve the delicate nature of the fish.

Marias Association Cabaret Love Boat

Love Boat: The Divine Cabaret

The show follows the concept started in 2002, in Bairro Alto, Lisbon, where several talents imagined scenes and carried them out. At that time, the stage was commanded by legendary masters of ceremony Madunna and La Monique, who weren’t merely announcing other artists, but printing their own rhythm and making magic in an enchanted world of fantasy, sparkles, and art. Burlesque, satire or simply absurdity were dissected by artists and the public. Love Boat will be no different but it will make a difference.

The Love Boat will be held on the Blue WhaleBoat, boarding time will be from 9:00pm until 9:50pm at Pier 14 (Behind the Masters Hotel). Departs from Inner Harbor passing through the Macau Tower and the banks in front of Grand Lisboa, MGM, Wynn, Macau Science Museum towards the new Hong Kong-Macau-Zhuhai Bridge.

exhibition endless desire painting of an apple

The Endless Desire – Painting and Installation by Zheng Yu

The solo exhibition by Zheng Yu presents the artist’s latest series of works that expresses his thoughts, experiments and implementation in arts. “Desire” is the most primitive and basic instinct of all animals in the world. From the human point of view, it is a kind of mental and physical content, and it is an indispensable demand for the existence of all animals. The most basic desire of all animals is to live and exist, in other words, is love and unsatisfied.

Historically, people like to use “apple” as a symbol of “desire”, such as Adam’s apple in “The Holy Bible”; and in a Chinese movie named “Apple”, it presented a situation of Chinese workers facing their desire in the society. Therefore, in this exhibition, Zheng will present his thoughts on human desire in contemporary society through his unique artworks with apples.

Profound David Sheekwan Exhibition Poster

Profound – Works by David Sheekwan

Albergue SCM and ALBcreativeLAB and Arts Empowering Lab are presenting the exhibition Profound – Works by David Sheekwan, till July, 2021 at the art space At Light. The exhibition is separated into two parts. The first one is held in the gallery At Light, and the second part takes place in Albergue SCM. It features around 25 oil and ink paintings that David Sheekwan created recently in his home in Zhongshan.

The paintings in the exhibition feature Sheekwan’s minimalist and monochromatic style in subdued colors. A series of paintings incorporate twigs, branches, and pieces of wood and sand to give them different textures and highlight the different shades of colors and light. By placing these simple materials on a flat background, the artist turns something ordinary into something extraordinary with this collage of everyday objects. Picasso and Braque invented modern collage by incorporating real objects into their paintings. David Sheekwan had been curious about the cosmos since he was a child and this is a recurrent theme in his artistic creations. The cosmos is so dark and mysterious and he wants to explore it, to see how humans exist in the gigantic cosmos. His abstract ink and wash paintings show his unique observation of colors, lines, and proportions. His painting style is simple but mysterious–his paintings always leave a space to make people think.

When: May 15–June 26, 2021

Where: At Light, 1 Pátio do Padre Narciso, Macau and Gallery A2, Albergue SCM, 8 Calçada da Igreja de S. Lázaro, Macau

The Little Alchemist Baroque Concert Poster

“The Little Alchemist” Interactive Baroque Concert

Made for families including children aged three years old and above, The Little Alchemist is the perfect chance to introduce baroque music to your children! Many parents are usually busy taking care of their children and have no time to go to listen to classical music concerts. This concert creates an opportunity to meet the classical music listening needs of adults and children.

This concert takes into account the psychological characteristics of children and the tastes of music lovers. It combines lively and in-depth Baroque repertoires through interesting exchanges between the host and conductor, performers, and audiences. Combining orchestra, ensemble, solo, and singing to showcase the style of Baroque music. There may also be an introduction to the harpsichord, allowing the audience to recognize the Baroque period instrument that is relatively rare. Children can wear their own costumes for various roles, such as alchemist, magician, soldier, witch, princess, prince, animal, etc., to increase the atmosphere of the whole concert. The program includes music by Charpentier, Vivaldi, Handel, Telemann, and Corelli. The artists on stage are locals Sit Kai Chu (flute), Jim Wang (piccolo), Zhang Zihao (violin), Lilia Song (soprano), and Li Ruiping (bass) under the Macau Baroque Orchestra’s conductor, Johann Ho.
